BEYOND WHAT SEEMS

My artistic practice is grounded in expressive abstract painting that arises directly out of the creative process. This series of paintings on paper developed from a spontaneous, intuitive response to the medium itself. Free from preliminary sketches, the works were composed incrementally, allowing each small step to dictate the next. A pencil line, a pattern of paint, or a block of colour would determine the subsequent mark until the piece reached completion.

Each painting functions as a physical archive of time and a psychological map of fleeting internal sensations. Deep-seated memories of colour and emotion manifest to direct the work, physical gestures create layered experiences where fragments and forms build colourful landscapes of time. In these works, I am interested in unpacking emotions, and I invite the viewer to come with me on this journey of felt realities.
